So the groom who fails to show up is the stuff of nightmares… and the bride who skips made a lot of money for the Dixie Chicks.

But what happens when everyone comes to the wedding but the minister?  Not too long ago we witnessed this happen.  Just when we thought we’d seen it all…  The guests were there, the food was waiting, and the appointed hour came.  No officiant.

But here’s what we also saw… a masterful punt.  The vows were printed out and sitting downstairs. Some calls to friends were made. Enter an officiant who conducted the ceremony as though she (need we say of course a woman?) 🙂 had memorized it all at the rehearsal.

The point here:  be sure to have a hard copy of your entire ceremony tucked away at your venue. It might just save The Big Day!
